Key takeaways
- 12 programs are open now, 9 have forecasted deadlines and 7 major programs are between rounds, as of November 1, 2026.
- Next deadlines: Second Chance Act Youth Reentry Program (Nov 2, 2026); Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program - Local Formula (Nov 3, 2026); Opioid Affected Youth Initiative (Nov 16, 2026).
- Several large programs, including FEMA's fire grants, USDOT's BUILD and Safe Streets for All, and the E-Rate filing window, have no next-round dates yet. We'll add them when agencies post notices.
- For vendors, grants are buying signals: an award usually means money that must be spent on a defined need within a set period.

How to read this calendar
- Two-step DOJ deadlines. Department of Justice programs have a Grants.gov deadline (the date shown) and a later JustGrants deadline for the full application, listed under details.
- Forecasts are estimates. Forecasted dates come from agency forecasts on Grants.gov and can change.
- Pass-through programs. For some programs, such as FEMA flood mitigation, local governments apply through their state, which may set an earlier deadline.
- Not exhaustive. This calendar focuses on programs most relevant to local governments, schools and public safety agencies. Search Grants.gov for the full list.
How vendors use grant deadlines
Grants are one of the clearest public buying signals. Before a deadline, agencies look for partners and pricing to include in applications. After awards, they need to spend the money within the grant period.
- Before the deadline: help eligible agencies understand how your product fits the program, with case studies from similar grantees.
- After awards: watch award announcements and council or board approvals to accept grant funds, then reach the program owner.
- Plan for next year: programs between rounds often return; agencies start planning months before notices post.

How KSG helps
Kensington Sales Group tracks grants, budgets and other buying signals for clients, then calls the agencies that are applying for or spending grant money and books meetings with the program owners. See our market intelligence work.
